Nursing Institutes
Historic preview:
The Lebanese Red Cross nursing institute was founded on November 27, 1947, according to a presidential decree. It was the first nursing institute in Lebanon and was located at Spears Street in Beirut. Its mission was to grant diplomas to nurses (male and female), working in health centers in Lebanon and abroad. In 1981, the institute was moved to Baabda.
Nursing Institutes in the Lebanese Red Cross are national institutes specialized in nursing education for more than 60 years. The graduates contribute to improve the nursing profession and play an important role in various medical and nursing settings following the principles and recommendation of Red Cross.
Courses at the institutes are provided by doctors, professors and nurse instructors who are specialized in nursing education .The graduates will have the opportunity to continue their studies and get a Bachelor Degree from the Faculty of Nursing Sciences at The Lebanese Red Cross - Baabda.

The Lebanese Red Cross nursing institutes and schools provide studies in three nursing institutes to acquire the following degrees at different regions in Lebanon.  

1- Tripoli

- Higher Technical diploma in Nursing (TS):
• Prerequisite:
 - Lebanese Baccalaureate or its equivalent
 Technical baccalaureate (BT) in nursing
Duration of program: 2 years

- Technical Licence in nursing (LT)
• Prerequisite:
- Higher Technical diploma (TS) in nursing
Duration of program: one year

Teaching language: French

2- Saida

1. Technical Baccalaureate in nursing ( BT)
 
  Prerequisite:
 - official certificate diploma (academic Brevet)
 - official professional certificate (professional Brevet BP)
Duration of program: 3years

2. Official Professional Certificate (Professional Brevet BP):
- Prerequisite:
 -Grade 8 or 9 classes (Middle school)
Duration of Program: 2 years
Teaching language: Arabic
Some courses are given in French and English according to the language of the student.

3- Falougha

1. Technical Baccalaureate in nursing (BT):
- Prerequisite:
- Official certificate diploma (Academic Brevet)
- Official professional certificate (Professional Brevet)
Duration of program: 3years

2. Official Professional Certificate (Professional Brevet BP)
- Prerequisite:
- Grade 8 or 9 class (Middle school)
Duration of Program: 2 years

3. Official professional certificate in :
- Midwife assistant
- Medical assistant
- Emergency assistant
- Pharmacist assistant

- Prerequisite:
 Academic Brevet or its equivalent
Duration of program: 9 months

Teaching language: Arabic
Some courses are given in French and English according to the language of the student.

Registration requirements:
A candidate must submit the following documents:

- Application form (Available at the Institute registrar’s office).
- A certified copy of the Lebanese baccalaureate or its equivalent, or a certified copy of the technical baccalaureate BT diploma or equivalent or brevet diploma or equivalent.
- Photocopy of ID
- 2 passport photos
- A judicial record
- Certified passport photos
- Health clearance certificate
