The meeting of the Executive Committee of the Arab organization of Red Crescent and Red Cross
The Lebanese Red Cross hosted the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the Arab Organization of Red Crescent and Red Cross session 38 of the general assembly in Le Bristol Hotel – Beirut. The meeting was chaired by the chairperson of Kuwait Red Crescent Society Mr. Barjas Al Barjas in the presence of the General Secretary of the Arab Organization Dr, Abdullah Al Hazza’a, the vice president of the Standing Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent the president of the Jordanian Red Crescent Mr. Mohammad Motlak Al Hadid, and presidents and officials from the RCRC Societies from the following Arab countries: Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Kuwait, Libya, Comoros, Syria, Egypt, Sudan, UAE, Jordan, Qatar, in addition to delegates from the International Federation of RCRC societies. Sheikh Sami Al Dahdah the president and the Vice President Mr. Walid Kebbe presented the Lebanese Red Cross.


The meeting started with a speech by Hazzaa who stressed on the importance of this meeting in the light of the difficult conditions that prevailed in the Arab regions stressing on the importance of the humanitarian role of the RCRC Societies in helping the needy.

Al Dahdah

Next was a speech for Al Dahdah who welcomed the Arab guests in their country Lebanon which is the source and the custodian for all and which links between all the Arab societies. He also noted the role of the Red Crescent Societies which are facing difficult circumstances in their countries and proved successfully its complete neutrality and were, as we had wished, a glimmer of hope and light which bring out the people from the darkness and which was the hope for all our people. He asked the heads of the Arab Societies to remain in solidarity and avoid all the ramification and political differences that are happening inside our countries in order for these societies to remain a link and a sail of hope for all the Arab people.

Al Barjas

Then Al Barjas chaired the meeting and thanked Lebanon for hosting the first meeting of the Executive Committee and suggested on all the attendees to offer the Medal of Honor to the Prince of Kuwait State on the role played by the Kuwait Red Crescent and the submissions provided by them to help the needy.

Then the meeting began and the attendees showed, during all their meeting duration, the report of the General Secretary of the Arab organization, the report of the continuing decisions of the General assembly of 38, the financial reports, and the report of the Understanding Memorandum Review Committee between the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and Magen David Adom Society and the humanitarian situation in hot regions. The attendees also discussed the mechanism of the Arabic movement in the constitutional meetings and the center of the humanitarian information of the Arab Organization, and other proposals and projects related to the work of the organization.

Dahdah also established a lunch on the honor of the delegations and it was attended Mr. kebbe, members of Executive Committee, directors and officials from the Lebanese Red Cross, and Mr. York Montani the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
