LRC launches its annual Fundraising campaign
On the occasion of 8 of May, the International Day of Red Cross and Red Crescent, the Lebanese Red Cross launched its annual fundraising campaign 2019 under the slogan "Your Support Reverts to You" in a ceremony held at the headquarters in Kantari- Spears. The ceremony was attended by members of the executive committee, head of branches, officials, directors, volunteers, and representatives of the Middle East and North Africa office of the IFRC and ICRC, in addition to delegations from RCRC societies in Lebanon.
After a welcoming speech said by the responsible of PR & Communication section Mr. Kamal Fares, the ad of the campaign was displayed, then the President of the Lebanese Red Cross Dr. Antoine Zoghbi threw a speech in which he emphasized on the role of this society which is considered an exceptional voluntary situation in the history of this country, where it provided approximately 1100000 services in 2018.
He continued: “Today, it includes 12000 volunteers in 32 branches, 48 EMS sectors and 4 dispatch rooms, in addition to 13 blood transfusion centers, 36 clinics and 9 mobile clinics, 1 sector for disaster management and 14 team, 33 youth centers, and a nursing college with 3 schools spreading throughout Lebanon.
He added: "Our campaign today for all these goals mentioned, and more than that, the human being in Lebanon today needs more help than ever before, and we need you and your support to continue to meet our humanitarian appeals”.
He concluded: “Your Support reverts to you as various high quality and fast services. The Lebanese Red Cross, on the territory of the homeland, is one of this society. It will not get tired and will continue to give, for that is its duty, and it will continue to give even beyond the duty”.
