Two Ambulances from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands
The Lebanese Red Cross received two fully equipped ambulances donated by the ministry of foreign affairs of the Netherlands through the Netherlands Red Cross delegation in Lebanon. The occasion took place at the LRC headquarters in Spears during the visit of the Dutch ambassador Jan Waltmans to Lebanon with a delegation where he was received by the President of LRC Dr. Antoine Zoghbi and the Secretary-General, Mr. Georges Kettaneh. The ceremony was attended by the country representative of the Netherlands Red Cross delegation in Lebanon Mr. Atta Durrani, the Program officer Ms. Annie Smith, and several LRC officials.
Dr Zoghbi, Ambassador Waltmans, Mr. Kettaneh, and Mr. Durrani spoke during the ceremony. The words praised this valuable initiative and the role of the LRC in responding to emergencies, then they spoke about the cooperation programs between the two societies and the most important services provided by the Lebanese Red Cross. The Ambassador also visited the Blood Transfusion Center, where he was briefed on the latest techniques adopted and noted the role of the Lebanese Red Cross in this field.
