LRC: Developing and building capacities to confront the challenges
The Lebanese Red Cross - Jbeil branch organized a seminar entitled “Lebanese Red Cross: developing and building capacities to confront the challenges," at Raymond Francois Bassil Hall, and delivered by the Secretary General Georges Kettaneh. The event was attended by ministers, MPs, heads of municipalities, and social, civil, sport and religious faces, in addition to members and volunteers, and officials from the Lebanese Red Cross.

The head of Jbeil branch Mrs. Randa Kallab welcomed the attendees and thanked the president of Byblos Bank Group Dr. Francois Bassil for all that he offered for the Lebanese Red Cross in Jbeil; she also declared naming the hall on behalf of his wife, "Raymond Francois Bassil Hall”. A film about the stages of the hall construction was screened.

Mr. Kettaneh gave a presentation about Jbeil Center since its foundation in 1973 until today, and he highlighted its effective role in helping citizens, displaced, and needy people. He thanked "each one for supporting the center to be a role model in spreading the vision of the Lebanese Red Cross”. He also explained in an extensive presentation the challenges that the Lebanese Red Cross is facing as well as the developments carried out in order to overcome challenges and keep up with crises.

Finally, Mrs. Kallab offered souvenirs for Mr. Bassil and the engineer Tony Lahoud who supervised the design of the hall. Mrs. Kallab presented Mr. Kettaneh with a gift on behalf of the members of the center.
