Youth Organize Stair-Coloring Event in Aley
As part of the activities linked to the international day of peace, the Lebanese Red Cross – Aley branch volunteers organized, in collaboration with the municipality, a stair-coloring event in the area under the slogan, “The colors of Aley unite us.” The activity took place on Piscine Street where the volunteers painted a painting for peace and planted flowers to revive the area and to signify peace and coexistence.
Speeches during the unveiling of the colored stairs were delivered by head of the Youth center Ms. Yara Abdul Khalek, head of the Aley local committee Ms. Amal Talhouk, head of the Aley municipality Mr. Wajdi Mrad, and head of the Lebanese Red Cross Youth Department Mr. Youssef Sfeir. A human chain along the length of the stairs was also formed and the activity was concluded by a youth concert.
The stairs featured in the activity are composed of 110 steps and are an important symbol of Aley whereby they connect its old market with Piscine Street.
