10 ambulances from the ICRC to the Lebanese Red Cross
    The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) donated 10 ambulances, which are fully equipped, to the Lebanese Red Cross. This initiative comes as an implementation of the Emergency Medical Services strategy, which extends to 5 years and which includes the renewal and modernization of the ambulances fleet especially in centers that work on serving the wounded and sick affected by the Syrian crisis. The ceremony occurred near the EMS center in Baabda, and was attended by the head of the ICRC delegation Mr. Fabrizzio Carboni, the cooperation coordinator Mr. Finn Ruda. From the Lebanese Red Cross attended its president Ms. Suzanne Oueis , the Secretary General Mr. Georges Kettaneh, head EMS Ms. Rosy Boulos, the director of EMS Mr. Abdullah Zoughieb, and the director of operations Haj Mohammed Makki, in addition to officials and volunteers from the centers. The cars were delivered immediately to the Centers Rashaya, Nabatieh, Tripoli, Mashghara, Jbeil, Kabr Shmoon, Shwayfet, Furn Elshebbak, Jal Eldib, and Mriejeh to be placed in service. During the ceremony, Ms. Boulos said a word by which she noted the importance of this support which highlights the success of the EMS in its humanitarian work, and which contributes so far to the effective response. Ms. Oueiss thanked the International Committee on this initiative that comes in the context of the long history of cooperation in many areas which contribute in capacity building. Mr. Carboni emphasized that this support comes in response to the strategy which supports and assist the EMS, he also stressed on following up the commitment to provide support and assistance to the Lebanese Red Cross under the current challenges in order to stand up for the most vulnerable and needy.
